    Darcy for a boy?

I really like the name Darcy for a boy, but I’m worried that someone would make fun of a male Darcy because it’s more of a “girl” name. Do you think it’s okay for a male to be named Darcy? Follow up, if I used Darcy, would Darcy West be a good combo?

I love Darcy on a boy!! Im not sure how it would work in the Uk where Darcy appears twice in the top 100 with different spellings but to me it sounds masculine enough that a boy could wear it!

Most people forget that the name is after MR Darcy from Pride and Prejudice so to me it has inherently masculine connotations

I think it is masculine enough, and also not that common in general, so I don't think most people will have a super strong association to either gender. Darcy West is lovely but personally, I'd go for a more masculine middle name if you are worried about others mixing up the gender.

To me it’s totally a boy’s name; I actually don’t love it on girls but think it’s a great name for a boy. I’m a teacher at an all boys school and have taught multiple Darcys, none of whom have ever been bullied for the name as far as I’m aware. Actually, in Australia Darcy is in the top 100 for boys but not for girls so I wouldn’t worry if I were you! Darcy West is a great combo.
