First baby in October - boy names

    Hi all,

I am expecting my first baby in October. I don't know whether it will be a boy or a girl (yet). I find coming up with boy names I like especially difficult for some reason. But here are a couple of names that I do like. (I am from an Irish/Scandinavian family currently living in London btw).

    First names:
Llyr, Teddy, Alfie, Ripley, Leif, Loewe, and for some reason these quite similar names: Otis, Olin, Oisin and (the almost guilty pleasure name) Owlin

    Second names could be:
Alfred, Roscoe, Ripley, Caspian, Llyr, Leif, Loewe, Stevie, Christopher, Crispin, Oisin, Rupert, and for some reason always loved the 'grandpa' name Graham

I like Wolfe, Frankie and Marlowe as both a girl name as well as for a boy.

What do you guys think? I feel like I'm just better and discerning what I like as girl names than boy names Any feedback and suggestions for combinations and other names I might like are all highly appreciated!

    Best wishes,
    Liv

You've got some nice, interesting names on your list this far. I would recommend looking into more formal versions of the likes of Teddy, Alfie & Stevie that you like, particularly the first to as first names as it might be nice for them to have more formal options to use later in their professional lives.

My favourite firsts are Oisín & Leif, and adding middles, Caspian, Llyr, (though this one is near impossible for most people to pronounce correctly...) Wolfe & Marlowe.

I'd suggest Leif Caspian & Oisín Marlowe for combos.

    Gaia . Atlas . Freyja . Emrys . Aviva . August . Juno . Freyr . Ariadne . Octavian . Sarai . Dawson . Nimue
    Ambrose . Sunniva . Aurelian . Artemisia . Hawthorne . Idony . Jesper . Leocadia . Peregrine . Amity . Wren
    Juniper . Ari . Adelaide . Tadhg . Ianthe . Jessamy . Galateia . Blythe . Noa . Malachy . Athena . Atticus

Otis, Marlowe or Teddy with either Caspian or Ripley as a middle would be fantastic! Wolfe also makes a nice middle actually. I also quite like Alfie and Oisin and also Frankie, but for a boy I prefer the spelling Franky. Franky Caspian would be awesome! Llyr is an interesting one, I like the look of it, and whilst the look of Loewe appeals to me I only see it as a fashion brand. There are some really great names here though, you’ve got a lot to work with! Others I feel you might like:

    Frey/Freyr
    Xavier
    Soren
    Lucian
    Caspar
    Bastian
    Cyrus
    Saxon
    Felix
    Anders
    Rory
    Orson
    Elio
    Stellan
    August
    Kai
    Lars
    Viggo
