    We love the name Micah but my husband’s brother is name Michael. Do you think the names are too similar? Should we avoid using it?

    They are very similar but still different enough to where they shouldn't get confused at family functions. I agree with the above poster that it should be fine to use

    They are very similar, but I think you can get away with it. Micah is a very cute name!

    They're similar but different enough though family might think you were honouring Michael -is that something you mind?

    They're similar enough that I wouldnt suggest using them as siblings, but it's fine for a nephew and uncle. You could even view it as an honour name

    Thank you all for your input! We are not intending it as an honor name but that wouldn’t be a bad thing, although I guess it could get confusing if people ask.
