    Alliteration?

I usually dislike alliteration in combos, however I’m trying to find a Chinese middle I like with my Ayla Marigold combo. Mei Hua means beautiful flower, which I think matches Marigold well. Opinions on Ayla Marigold Mei Hua? Is the alliteration bad? Is it too much?

I'm not into alliterative first/last name combos, either.

However, I've realized I do find it kind of nice when the first and middle alliterate (or when, like in your case, the two middle names alliterate -- which is even more subtle).

I've met a Clara Clementine, which I think is delightful, and name blogger Abby (who writes the weekly Name Sage column here) has a Claire Caroline Wren.

I think Ayla Marigold Mei Hua is similarly delightful. Ayla Marigold Mei is also very pretty, but I'm guessing that Mei Hua feels more meaningful. I don't know much about Chinese naming conventions, but my nieces and nephews (who are 1/4 Chinese) all have Chinese second middles, and theirs are two-part names, so I'm guessing that two-part names are more authentic.

Can you tell me more about Chinese naming conventions -- is it typical to use a two-part name?

Yes, Mei by itself isn’t a given name, although I believe it is a surname. There are some names that are just one part but most are in pairs. Mei means beautiful and it’s usually paired with another word to be a name. I’m going to be completely honest with you I don’t know all that much because SO is Chinese not me haha

Ayla Marigold Mei Hua has a really lovely ring to it! It doesn't feel to alliterative and i enjoy it as a combo

All iterations can be lovely. I especially love when people use two middle names starting with the same letter, and the first name is different. It just has a very nice sound to it. Some examples given to me in the games forum were Emmeline Sarah Snow and Cassandra Molly Moon. I think they're beautiful. Ayla Marigold Mei Hua is lovely
