    Sister for Mabel "Billie"

What would you name Mabel "Billie"'s sister? Should I go for another name with a tomboyish nickname, or some other feminine name like Esther or Ada?
Also, I've been liking Billie & Jane together lately, do you think they work together?

Billie and Jane are great together!!

Ada and Billie and Esther and Mabel 'Billie' would work well too -maybe Effie and Billie as nn?

    I'd also consider
    Mabel 'Billie' and...

    Frances 'Frankie'
    Lydia 'Liddy'
    Georgia 'Georgie'
    Katherine 'Kitty'/'Kit'
    Lois
    Emmeline 'Emme'
    Ivy
    Josephine 'Josie' 'Jo' 'Joanie/Joni'
    Florence
    Harriet

Jane definitely works with Mabel, but I also love the idea of a feminine name with a spunky nickname.
    Some ideas:
    Winifred - Winnie
    Rosalind - Lindie
    Beatrix - Trixie
    Beatrice - Betsy
    Margaret - Mae/Maisie/Greta/Margie/Margot
    Roxanne - Roxie/Roxy
    Helena - Lainey/Nell/Nellie/Lenny
    Louisa - Lou
    Caroline - Connie/Caro
    Dorothy - Dot/Dottie/Dodie
    Georgia/Georgiana - Georgie
    Marigold - Goldie
    Rosemary - Romy
    Minerva/Miranda - Minnie
    Clementine - Clem, Coco
    Francesca/Frances - Frankie
    Harriet - Hattie
    Josephine - Josie/Joy/Joey
    Alba - Albie
    Susannah - Sunny

    Hi there.

Mabel is so sweet. I'd be tempted to do something along the same lines; old fashioned feminine name w/tomboy nn. Although I do think that Billie & Jane are lovely together. Esther & Ada are both great names, but wouldn't be my first pick as a sister.

    How about...

    Beatrice nn Bea

Frances nn Frankie (I much prefer Franny or Francie, but this seems sort of perfect.)

Georgina (or Georgia/Georgiana...Georgina fits best!) nn Georgie....so cute!

    Harriet nn Hattie

    Imogen nn Idgie

    Jemima nn Jem

    Kathleen nn Kit...love this!

Katherine nn Kit...Kathleen is more interesting though.

    Penelope nn Pip?

Philippa nn Pip, but I like Penelope much more, & especially w/Mabel.

    Susanna nn Scout!

Theodora nn Teddy...kind of boyish for my tastes, but totally works.

    Hope this helps.

You don't have to have a tomboyish nn but if you want one, possibly "Jay" for Jane? or "Jo" since Jane is the feminine form of John. I think Billie and Jane work very well.

I think any of those options would work well with Mabel "Billie" really. I think Esther meshes best stylistically with Mabel and I feel like Etsy would be a sweet yet spunky nickname for it that would work beautifully with Billie.

Well, it also starts with a B, but Bo was my first thought. I think they match well stylistically. I also like Billie with Jude or Rue. I think a tomboyish name is a better choice, but it's not necessary. I do like Jane a lot and it matches very well with Billie, but it doesn't quite have the same cool factor.

    May I suggest …

    Mabel "Billie" {and} Ruby "Rue"
"Close your eyes and think about it.

Which name do you really, really love the most?

Go with the one that makes you smile every time you say it."
