Lightbulb Help with unusual boys names!!

    Hi berries,

DH & I are TTC #2 soon and have been brainstorming names but we are stuck on boys names. Our daughter is Finley (middle name is distinctive so I won't share, but it is a unisex single syllable name) and our last name is short, rhyming with "air". Hit me with your suggestions for first or middle names, or both!

To give you an idea of our style, the following names are the only ones we have agreed on:
Kodiak (nn Kody, I love this one)
York (I LOVE York, DH likes it)
    Fox
    Wren
    Wolfe
Charleston (nn Charlie, DH loves but I'm on the fence - not a huge fan of Charlie)
Bauer/Bower (only as a middle name)

Top contenders if we have another girl: Holland or August

We like uncommon names that are easy to pronounce and spell. I like the single syllable names (York, Fox, Wren) for middle names because it goes with our daughters short mn, but they don't have to match so we're open to suggestions. Thanks!

    Judson Fox
    Arlo Reeves
    Halston Reed

    Hi there.

    Here are my thoughts:

Kodiak (nn Kody, I love this one)-This is kind of cool. Do you have any connection to Alaska?

York (I LOVE York, DH likes it)-This is different. It's not my personal favorite, but sort of neat.

Fox-This is cool. A little matchy w/Finley, but not a deal breaker.

Wren-I don't know about this. I feel w/like a unisex name for your daughter, you should stick w/a more masculine name for your son.

Wolfe-This is not my style. A little too harsh, but fine as a mn. Fox is just sleeker to use an animal name.

Charleston (nn Charlie, DH loves but I'm on the fence - not a huge fan of Charlie)-Aw, I love Charlie. If you don't like Charlie but do like Charleston, what about the nn Chet? Or Cal?

Bauer/Bower (only as a middle name)-Sounds good as a mn.

    Other suggestions:

    Burke

    Blaise

    Blaine

    Caspar/Caspi

    Dashiell/Dash

    Dexter/Dex

    Knox

    Rafe

    Shaw

    Hope this helps.

Love the suggestion of Birch! I would suggest Cadoc. I think either Birch or Cadoc would sound great as a brother to a Finley. I do also like the suggestion of Grady.

Wolfe Bauer sounds like a simple yet stylized and unique name. I also quite like the fact that Wolfe is spelled that way, since it's a last name as first. I feel like that fits in with Finley quite well and I can imagine them as a sibset.

For Charleston, I'd suggest the nn of Chara or Stone. Suggestions are:

    Aster
    Pierce
    Kade
    Koda
    Ashton
    Griff
    Reed
    Carmelo (nn Karma/Milo)
    Barrett (nn Bear)
    Makai
    Kannon
