    Middle name too weird?

My maiden name is Brooks so if we have a girl I want to use Brooks as the mn, not Brooke. My husband is on the fence, we are not fond of the name Brooke at all. But I want to honour my family name, our boy names have been set in stone for years so there will be no using it for a boy mn.

I have actually met a girl who went by Brooks as a first name so to me it is not strange at all.

Do you think Brooks is a weird mn for a girl?

Also, the other names we have picked out all have uncommon mn, so future sib names are a non issue.

SO just wants to hear from the masses since family will not be involved with the naming process.

    Thank you!

As a middle name I think it’s fine! I wouldn’t be worried about it being “too weird” at all, because surnames for girls and boy names for girls are super common now a days

Please use your surname in your child's name. Not weird at all.

My middle name is my mom's middle name and it's a lot weirder and harder to spell than Brooks, so i think Brooks is perfectly usable and is not weird at all.

I think Brooks works great. My FILs middle name is 'Adams' which was his Mothers maiden name. I think you should definitely use it!

I think it sounds fine! I really like the sound of Brooks. It's not that odd of a name at all when you consider all the possible names out there.

My hubby's middle name is his mum's maiden name and no one thinks it's weird.

I think it's completely fine. Plenty of people have their mother's maiden name as their middle, and Brooks strikes me as being very usable as a given name.

I have to admit, I have a "no middle name is too weird" mentality.

BUT! Brooks is AWESOME! It feels strong yet totally feminine and would pair well with so many names. I positively adore it.
