I seem to make this list every year after the dance recital but that’s because every year there’s some amazing names to report! Enjoy!

Only two boys in the recital this year whose names are Donovan and Carter.

    Avril

TL;DR: There are some surprisingly unique names for my area (which tends to not stray too far away from Abby and Ava) including Juno, Avril, Livia, Connie, and Ophelia. This is actually the second Ophelia that I have seen in the last couple years, which is really interesting!

We also have parent classes at the studio, including a mom’s ballet and hip hop classes featuring moms named Tonya, Rachel, Portia, and Stacy.
We do a daddy/daughter dance as well, with dads named David, Phillip, Larry, Adam, Anthony, Tommie, Brian, Andy, Chris, Jake, John (x2), Mike, James, Brent, Justin, and Chad.

    Bonus!
I’ve tried to collect as many sibsets as possible, since I love sibsets and I know others on Nameberry do as well. I know many of these girls and their families so some were not dancing but I wanted to include them anyways:
    Olivia and Lucy
    Ashley and Sydney
    Sophia and Logan (b)
    Emily and Olivia
    Leah, Laina, and Livia
    Sophie, Gabby, and Vivian
    Sydney, Abby, and Emily
    Avery and Cooper (b)
    Michaela and Nick
    Leah, Abby, and Ellie
    Margo and Carter (b)
    Moira and Donovan (b)
    Lilly, Henry, and Scarlett
    Marlowe and Beckett (b)
    Briana and Autumn
    Addison, Kaylie, and Sarah
    Alaina and Amara
    Megan and Ophelia
    Nora and Olivia
    Bella and Bree
    Olivia and Maddie
    Sienna and Maebelle
    Drew (g) and Macie
    Haley and Cayden (b)
    Claire, Allison, and Lauren
    Cydnee and Marlee
    Avril and Annette

Anything stand out? Favorite names or sibsets? Any surprises? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I always love it when names like Avril are used!

One thing (which isn't at all specific to these sibsets, but this seemed like a good place to mention it) that I find fascinating about looking at sibsets is that, while they are sometimes mismatched, you can see the parents' style so clearly most of the time in a way that an only child's name doesn't get across quite the same.
Examples: Nora and Olivia, classics which have recently become super popular. Ashley and Sydney, modern unisex names. Alaina and Amara, familiar, three syllable A names.

Thanks for posting this! It was an interesting read.

Very interesting! How old are all the Sydneys?

PS. Is this studio in Kansas by any chance. Because there was a girl who was on 16 and pregnant and is rumored to be going on teen mom OG who has a daughter called Jaxie.

One Sydney is 16, another is 13, and the last is probably 11 or 12. The studio is in Kansas but the Jaxie is probably in high school so I don’t think it’s the same one.

Avril and Annette were definitely surprises when I first heard, especially because Annette’s middle name is Moon!

I love sibsets as well, which is why I posted them. I was a little surprised by Megan and Ophelia, since the names seem so different and the girls aren’t far apart in age (and Ophelia is older) but they have a very unique surname so there was no denying it.
