    They are masculine names...
If parents decide to choose a name from a certain culture, they must respect that culture and the gender for which the name was historically given

Elliott Caspian Archibald August Beau Desmond Everest Nils Zephyr
Bellamy, Felix, Apollo, Aleph, Milo, Grey, Hawthorn, Huckleberry, Peregrine

Esmée Nell Autumn Olive Maxine Elinor
    Primrose, Charlie, Emerson, Iris

Most of these I would consider male.

Lane is certainly gender neutral, and I suppose Elliott could be also (given the Scrubs character).

I see most people above saying that Jessie is the female form of Jesse, which is true (it's my name!) however the amount of times people spell my name "Jesse" they do seem to think that is gender neutral..

    Are these names unisex?
Elliott - not really. I think of it as a male name that is used for girls rarely
Jude - absolutely. Know Judes of both genders.
Jesse - for sure. This is a lot like Jamie, could go either way.
Jonah - it's masculine but probably wouldn't raise eyebrows on a girl.
Lane - yes, but my first guess would be male.
Reid - yes. I know Reid's of both genders.

Julian, Linden and Francis are some other soft-sounding yet masculine names.

I would assume all male, apart from Lane.

I love softer boys’ names too, and I’m especially loving Jesse, Jude and Jonah from your list!

I’ve seen Lane & Jessie used for girls. Also, if you’re thinking of the future, Elliott seems to be heading in the direction of gender neutral.

Jude seems very masculine to me, as do Reid & Jonah
