    Sheldon & Chester are great together. In fact, I think it's my favourite of all your options.

    If you like Rupert, I don't think it would get mixed up with Robert - it's familiar enough.

    I love Chester and Linus as well as Chester and Wallace! However I think that Chester and Wallace seems like a better fit. Since Chester was popular during the 1880's I refer to that time period for other names as below:

    Clarence, Warren, Russell, Clayton, Wilburn & Roscoe

    I love Monroe!! I hope you keep it in the running.

    For me, the peanuts association is just too strong for the name Linus to ever work without dragging that association along with it.

    I hope you choose Monroe, but some other names that I think work well with Chester include Leroy, Ernest, and Rufus.

    I like Linus and Chester, but I do have some other suggestions if you haven't considered them already. These were all popular in the same year as Chester.
