    I got a job today. The induction is on my 20th, Monday, so I'm bummed a little but I desperately need a job so I'll suck it up. It's a 10-4 induction and my birthday meal is at 5:30 so all should work out fine. A celebratory Pizza Hut delivery is on its way to me

    Congratulations on the job, Eryn!

    Sucks that the induction is on your birthday though.

    I guess if there's one good thing about my birthday being the day it is - which is Christmas Day - is that I've never had to work on it.

    Edited to add: Pizza is always good!

    @Maggie: my sister's birthday is on Christmas Day and she hates it! Other than the guaranteed day off each year, do you like it? We celebrate Christmas more so on Boxing Day than the 25th. And thank you!

    @Emily: Thank you!

    Just feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders because now I can make sure my family get Christmas presents... Lol. That was literally my only worry.

    It's just your typical sales assistant job, but it is at my favourite store. They have everything (inc. stationery, and aisles and aisles of it - I am going to be in heaven lol, I love stationery) and I could literally buy everything I ever need from it. Garden stuff, home stuff, food, drink, clothes, cards/presents, arts and crafts, pet stuff... Literal heaven!

    Goodness, I feel old…

    Hi! I'm Patricia and I'm 27. I'm born and raised in the Bluegrass. I work part-time / a few days a week as an electrician. It's sort of an off-the-wall job, but I basically get to work inside of a puzzle all day which is fantastic. The rest of my time is spent doing the normal stuff: cooking, cleaning, spending time with my love and my niece, arguing on twitter, etc.

    I've never taken the time to get to know anyone here so this'll be interesting. Nice to meet everyone!

    @Patricia: An electrician! That's so interesting. I didn't realize we had so many southerners on nameberry. For some reason I've always thought that the bulk of our Americans came from the West Coast or the Northeast.

    @Emily: Absolutely! We in the South are quite fond of names.
