    Should It Be Spelled...

I have the biggest issues with spelling things incorrectly. I'm a bit of a grammar nazi, so spelling anything wrong usually bugs me to death.

But. Ugh, that huge "but"... I'm in love with the name Muiranne. My issue is that no one ever knows how to pronounce it.

My question is: If you were going to use this name would you use the original spelling or change it to Mirren?

    Thank you!

I think it would be fine.

I think you live in a place where the original spelling isn't known very well (judging from your comment), so I'd say it's not that big a deal.

It will only prevent a lot of questions about pronunciation and people spelling it wrong. In a way, it would be easier for her.

I have never seen Mirren spelled Muiranne before. It is a popular name here and is most popular with the Mirren spelling but is also spelled Murrin or Murron. My advice would be to go for the Mirren spelling - I personally prefer spellings to be straight forward if possible.
