    I agree with all the above names except Betty. It's ugly and it is just too '40's and not in a good way.
    The classic names have trends that tie them to a generation.
    Elizabeth - Betty, Betsy, Beth, Lz, Libby
    Katherine - Kay, Kathy, Kate, Katy
    Margaret - Marge, Peggy, Meg, Maggie
    that said, the names Betty, Kay and Marge sound like a girl group who used to sing for the troops in WWII

    names I hope won't come back - Hortense, Bernice, Gladys, Melvina, Yvonne, Yolanda, Shirley, Naomi, Ramona, Phyllis and so on.

    I dont agree with Gretchen, I know quite a few (at least 5 off the top of my head) younger than 25.
