    How do you pronounce?

How do you pronounce Mathias? It is a family name that I think I like but am unsure how to pronounce it.

I personally like it said Math-us?

I think it may actually be said Ma-thigh-us?

which is right? How do I spell it to get the Math-us pronounciation that I like?

    I say Math-ee-us or Math-i-us.

To get Math-us you could spell it Mathis / Matthis or Mattis (but you'd loose the th sound).

I say ma-THI-us (like your second thing up there). If you want Math-us, maybe just spell it that way? Mathus or Mathas.

I agree with ma-THI-us, I have also heard it Ma-TEE-us, by native Spanish speakers.
