My friends mn is name is Arianrhod (beautiful namesake) and she really doesn't like it. Pretty much laughs when she says it. Arwen is pretty and Elowen is too- Arianwen seems like a big name for a first, but maybe not with a nn.

I genuinely like Welsh names that end in 'wen'. Nolwenn is on my list (I may not actually use it but I like it alot).
My initial thought was Arianwen is so pretty, unique and distinct for a little girl. I love it...
However, then I read iamamiam post and I must agree... I prefer Arya Stark as a namesake to the Aryan brotherhood. Much prefer Arya Stark.

    Maybe try Ariadne

    I would avoid this name.

    It's pronounced 'a-ree-ann-wen' though (a like cat). Not 'air-ee-un'.

Granted, but my "too close" opinion still stands. Maybe I am overly cautious as I live in the southern US and serve many African Americans.
