It does make me think of Twilight a little bit, but it might be swingable even so. Personally Esmeray is a little frills for me, but the history's interesting.

Gorgeous I love the name! and soon all the twilight stuff will die down plus esme or ray would be a cute nn!Just a 15 year old name lover.

It is beautiful. I don't think of it as made-up at all; though I can see why people might think that at first. It's a thousand times better then Renesmee. I had always liked the name Esme, but it hadn't seemed substantial enough to use as a name; and to be honest I wasn't perfectly intrigued by the sound.
