    1. Oisin.

    2. Oisin because it's the only 'real' name up there.

Oakley (English: oak wood or clearing): She loves it but there's the connection with Annie Oakley.
Your average non-name-nerd Brit isn't going to know who Annie Oakley is.

It is, she was saying her friend doesn't want a phonetic spelling of it.

Yeah, I was also wondering how it's meant to be pronounced and that may be an issue, depending on where your friend lives.

@tuitree: I think Oisin is pronounced Osheen. She doesn't want a phonetic spelling of it. She thinks it turns it into a made up name. It would make his life easier possibly.

@renrose: I agree that I like Oisin best for her. It does seem best with their surname Winter. The pronunciation is the only issue. The only reason I brought up Annie Oakley with her is because nameberry mentions it. When you look up Oakley one of the suggestions is Annie.

@lovitalane: Yeah, I think that's the main reason that she hasn't settled on Oisin. I think it suits them best.

@renrose: Thanks for the correct pronunciation. I wish that Nameberry would add pronunciations to the names when you look them up. It sounds very close to ocean. That might be difficult with Winter.
