I think Eloise nn Elsie would be great. I love the suggestion of Elspeth.

I prefer it as a nickname, but I just generally prefer longer names that have cute nicknames (hence my kids Alexander = Xander, Madelyn = Maddie, and Genevieve = well....she was supposed to be Vivi but calls herself GV so that seems to be what is sticking!).

Elsie is darling though. If we keep Elisabeth on our short list, Elsie is definitely a top contender for the nickname!
Mom to Alexander Patrick (11), Madelyn Esther (8), Genevieve Susan (3), and Theodore James (stillborn at 37 weeks on February 3, 2014). Expecting #5 (a girl) in May 2015 -- Penelope Bridget.

Boys: Everett, Sebastian, Augustus, Samuel, Julian, Nicholas, Desmond, Jasper, Ezekiel, Malcolm
Girls: Bridget, Felicity, Elizabeth, Penelope, Leona, Ophelia, Elodie, Callista, Miriam, Delilah

Thanks everyone! I'm thinking I should start giving Elizabeth more of a chance!

I love Elsie! I am a firm believer in naming a child what she will be called. Elsie is a name that stands alone just fine and will age well. If you want a longer form, I would use Elsa.
