    Input on middle name choice...

So after a long eight and a half months, DH and I have finally decided on the name Ivy for our daughter.

Now we are stuck when it comes to middle names! Our last name is two syllables and starts with F (my username actually).

    His choice-

Ivy James (James is his middle name and also his father's name)

    My choice-

Ivy Louise (but our firstborn's middle name is Louis so I'm thinking it would be a bit repetitive...)

    A compromise-

    Ivy Lou James

Now... What about your choices? What do you think works well with Ivy?

Thanks, as always! This site has helped name all three of our children

I love Ivy but feel like it could use a longer middle. Ivy Lou is cute, but so few letters! Ivy James is okay but also very short. However, if it is really important to you to honor the James's in your family, then go for it. Is Ivy Jemima a possibility? I would prefer Ivy Louisa to Ivy Louise, but I do feel like that is repetitive with your son's middle name. Here are some other suggestions:

    Ivy Leona
    Ivy Miranda
    Ivy Teresa
    Ivy Eleanor
    Ivy Susannah
    Ivy Gabriella
    Ivy Beatrice
    Ivy Madeline
    Ivy Clementine
    Ivy Caroline
    Ivy Matilda
    Ivy Sophia
    Ivy Delilah
    Ivy Aurora
Mom to Alexander Patrick (11), Madelyn Esther (8), Genevieve Susan (3), and Theodore James (stillborn at 37 weeks on February 3, 2014). Expecting #5 (a girl) in May 2015 -- Penelope Bridget.

Boys: Everett, Sebastian, Augustus, Samuel, Julian, Nicholas, Desmond, Jasper, Ezekiel, Malcolm

A traditionally boys' name like James used on a girl seems VERY awkward to me, even in the middle name slot. Especially when paired with Ivy which is spunky and sweet and feminine, and Lou which is quite unisex. I would suggest Gemma or even Jemma in lieu of James. Ivy Gemma Louise has a lovely flow.

I also find the choice of Lou/Louise a bit repetitive when Louis is brother's middle name. Ivy Eloise, perhaps? Lois? Luella? Lucia? Lilou?
Zion Nathaniel ~ Solomon Fable ~ Balthazar Wolf ~ Malachi Sparrow nn Kai ~ Tobias Rowan ~ Caspian _____
Alice Willow ~ Ophelia Wren ~ Juliet Snow ~ Lucia Pearl ~ Eve Wisteria nn Evie ~ Cosima Rose ~ River Seraphine ~ Elowen Briar

Narnia Rose, Astoria nn Story, Illyria, Serafina, Soraya, Faerydae

I love Ivy Luella but DH vetoed it.. I also love Ivy Gemma but it doesn't flow right I don't think.

    Thanks so much!

I kind of like Ivy James. I am not sure why. I think since I have seen James used in the middle spot for girls it looks natural to me. Plus I love how it has meaning and is a family name. I know Ivy and James have two totally different vibes but I can not get over how its a family name. Its super sweet to me. I do not like Ivy Lou though or Ivy Lou James. And I think using Ivy Louise is way to close to her brother. My vote is for Ivy James but
    Other suggestions just in case:
    Ivy Amelia
    Ivy Blythe
    Ivy Jay
    Ivy Jane
    Ivy Pearl

    Ivy Emerson
    Ivy Reese
