    It's like the beginning of the word "island". You don't say the "s". My cousin's name is Isla and I also went to college with a girl named Isla - they both pronounce it the same way.

    I agree with pretty much everyone else. The "s" is silent, like aisle or island. EYE-luh.

    My first language is spanish and since isla is the spanish word for island I say it as I would say that word which is ees-lah I hope the explanation for the pronounciation makes sense
