I've been considering Layla or Leila recently. I like Layla Rose but there are already several <insert name> Rose's in my family and close friends. Which other middle names would go? I think a simple, one syllable name would go really nicely, maybe Skye or Ray/Rae? Or could I use one of these family names: Heather, Beverley, Natalie, Maisie, Emily, Esther, Florence.

Layla doesn't get much love on Nameberry because it's a bit trendy, but I like it. It's very pretty (and Lila gets so much love- I don't know why, as I think Layla is nicer.) The Leila spelling seems a bit more weighty, so I think I'd use that, but I like both spellings.

Layla Rose is a bit dull to me, and I think Layla needs a very interesting middle. I love Layla Beverley, Layla Florence, and Layla Esther from your list. Beverley is my favorite- it's an old-fashioned name, but sounds like a lot of currently popular names.

Oh, I love Layla! Especially that spelling. Layla Rose is lovely, but as you mention, <name> Rose is quite common. I really like Layla Florence!

I like Layla too, even if it is a bit popular at the moment. Layla Skye would be very pretty. Or how about:
    Layla Wren
    Layla Joy
It is very pretty with a one syllable middle. However, it would also work with a longer middle. From your list, these would work:
Layla Beverly -but Layla is light and airy and Beverly is ponderous and serious imo
    Layla Nathalie -this is okay
Layla Emily -this one works the best I think.

    Or, how about:
    Layla Beatrice
    Layla Adelaide
    Layla Gwendolyn
    Layla Genevieve
Mommy to John Alexander & 3 furbabies; Maggie the dog, Rex & Bella the wannabe lions

Current favourites: girls -Eliana [Bronwen, Joy, Claire, Irene], Leora [Irene, Bronwen, Bronwyn], Sarah Elise, Anna Charlotte, Adelaide, Phoebe, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Anastasia, Celeste, Astrid, Beatrix, Lucy
boys: Callum, Arthur [Paul or William], Nathaniel, Samuel, Zachary, Elijah

I like Layla. It's a common name in the Middle East. Since it means night in Arabic, it would be really cute with Skye. It does sound nice with a one syllable middle. I really like the suggestion of Layla Eve.
