Just remember that every child is different and sometimes they do prefer having a more common name.

Personally, I loved growing up with an uncommon name. I liked not having to go by first name and last initial as a way to differentiate myself from all the other kids in my class. Since graduating high school, I have met a few other "Marianne's". They have been double my age or more, but that doesn't bug me at all. I like being the only young Marianne I know.

But, I have known other people with uncommon names that have detested it and wished for something more common. You just never know.
