Sylvia is a great name for a girl of all ages! And if you want to make it feel a little more age-appropriate, you can call her Sylvie while she's little, and she can use the full Sylvia when she's feeling more grown-up or formal.
Current favorites: Olive, Louise/Louisa, Magdalene/Madeline, Phillipa, Talitha, Mallory, Blythe, Eliza, Mercy, Talia; Calvin, Charles, Gideon, Abram, Jude, Reuben, George, Reid, Clark, Holden.

Silvia is beautiful. It feels fresh and wearable and elegant. I like both Silvia and Sylvia, but I'd spell the name however your aunt did.
I like it best with one- or two-syllable middle names, or simpler long ones.

    Silvia Jane
    Silvia Blythe
    Silvia Kay
    Silvia Fay
    Silvia Anne
    Silvia Kate
    Silvia Wren
    Silvia Joy
    Silvia Pearl

    Silvia Marie
    Silvia Corinne
Silvia Simone (I like the alliteration, unless your surname begins with S too)
    Silvia Estelle
    Silvia Delphine
    Silvia Marine

For a longer middle I'd probably reach for a classic.
    Silvia Catherine
    Silvia Elisabeth
    Silvia Meredith
    Silvia Eleanor

I adore the Shakespeare poem about Silvia. If you do choose it, please frame that for the nursery.

Sylvia is stunning! Not too old lady at all. I really like the Sylvia spelling better than Silvia.

Not too old womanly at all! I think it's beautiful.

As far as a middle name, you could use it to bring the name a more modern feel by going with a mn like Grace.

Silvia is gorgeous! I would love to meet a little Silvie(or Sylvie)!
Boys: Maxwell, Bennett, Oliver, Elliott and Archer.

Sorry for any random spellings. I'm probably on my nook!
