    I love it!

I think Hazel on its own is lovely, but I think Hazy's just adorable. I've recently added Hazel Elisabeth nn Hazy to my own list. I probably wouldn't use it in public, really, it would just be an occasional nn. I think Hazy's just really fun and sweet. I know the connections to hazing, hazy, etc. aren't great at all, and besides, if it's mama's special nn, maybe if kids try to tease her/torture her with it, it'll seem less harsh/hurt less? Yeah, that was a feeble attempt at making Hazy more usable/likeable, but oh, well, haha. I still really like it.

    I like Hazel a lot!

I agree with the other posters about Hazy, not a good nickname. I though of a person with a ring of pot smoke around them when I read that. Hazel is so pretty, it doesn't need a nickname.
