Which gender is this name more usable for?

I have the name Dakota on my list for both genders and I love it for both equally. I do know of 2 girl Dakotas and 1 boy Dakota (although they're all online - I don't know them in person) but I'm still unsure which gender it is more usable for. I would say girl because of Dakota Fanning as she's quite famous but the name is still pretty uncommon so could it be used on a boy?

    What do you think?

I think it truly works for either. I have a good male friend who is my age named Dakota. But I'm also acquainted with 2 little girls named Dakota. So I dont really associate it with a gender.

I think it's good for either. If I met a boy named Dakota, I probably wouldn't think twice about it. That being said, I think it's more suitable for a girl. But that's just my opinion.

I know a guy who uses Dakota as a NN. I feel like it fits a boy better.

I like it better on a boy but I think it's great on either gender. I know 2 boy Dakota's (one 14 and one 7) and a girl Dakota (13) and I think it works perfectly fine on either. Kota as a boys nickname, Koko as a girls -- My Amazon Author Page
