It is very nautical. I have a nephew Krew and wasn't crazy about it at first, but it's grown on me.

I really like it but I wouldn't use it. I remember there was a little boy on Extreme Makeover - Home Edition with this name, if I remember correctly he had two older brothers called Sawyer and Thatcher.

I like it too. It's unique but simple and stylish. I thought of the clothing brand J. Crew, but I don't think I would make that connection if it was on an actual person.

I don't like it very much. It feels trendy like Cruz (Beckham) somehow very 90s at the same time and kind of reaching for preppiness with it's images of boys rowing crew, J crew, ect and the word crew also has the 'group of people' meaning that puts me in mind of a motley crew, a gang, which has punk and/or hip hop images for me.

I also hear a similarity to the word crude. And I think of how unfortunate a name it would be for an isolated loner type who is without a crew.

Sorry to criticize it so hard. If you love it go for it, it's not horrible, but those are my associations.

I don't like it. It's too much just a word to my ear. My first association isn't sailboats or anything, it's more something like a 'gang'- a group of youngin's who hang out (this is my 'crew'). I didn't think about the 'crew' boating association or Northeast Ivy league pretentiousness until I read your post (and I just talked about the sport of 'crew' to some of my students just a few days ago). I don't know why exactly, but when I hear the name Crew I picture a big scary dude with a scowl.
