    I actually think it works really well in modern day. I like the nn Flo or Florrie, but I think Flo would work best for a common nn. I do really like Florence!

    Florence is really sweet and vintage-chic! I'm not a nickname person but if I were I would use Flora.

    I know quite a few little Florence's, it's very popular in upper middle/preppy circles in the UK.

    I love the idea of the nn Firenze!

    I was just searching and daydreaming about the name Florence when this thread came up at the top of the girls forum. I guess I love the name then.

    I wonder if you can get away with the nickname Fern ...
