    I agree with what a lot of others are saying - May is a month name, and I don't particularly like month names. Whereas Mae is cute and different, and a great middle name. Where I live I don't think there'd be spelling issues at all - I think Mae is the more common way of spelling it, and May seems a bit outdated compared to Mae so most would assume a young girl would spell their name Mae.

    I prefer Mae. It looks feminine and romantic, where May just looks like the month.

    I like May sooooooooo much better. I can't pinpoint why, but Mae just seems bland and uninspired, while May feels clean, spunky, and pretty.
