    I voted other, but if ever-lyn was the American alternative for evvah-lyn, then that should have gotten my vote. I, too, prefer Eva and Eve, but Evelyn is very pretty! I like EVV-lyn, too, as an alternative to ev-ah-lyn--it sort of reminds me of the Welsh Eflyn.

    I'm from the US and I pronounce it Ev-uh-lyn but when I was in Mexico I knew a girl named Evelyn and it was pronounced Eh-vah-leen (soft on the v, almost a b sound).

    It's a beautiful name. I've loved it since the movie Pearl Harbor.

    YES! When I say it slowly, it's technically ev-uh-lyn but when I actually speak it, it ends up being Ev-lynn.

    Ever-lyn is ev-er-lynn to me so that's wrong.
