    Thoughts on the name Aber

We are considering Aber for our son's name. It seems to be rarely used as a first name, but in this day of Aidans, Abels and Ikers, I was wondering how the name would fit in. Any thoughts or first impressions of the name? Thanks!

I don't like it. I keep wanting to read it as Abner.

Yea, my first thought was that you spelled Abner wrong.

My second thought was aber....ation. Aber....crombie.

It just feels unfinished because it's a prefix.

I have a friend who named her son Abraham nn Aber. I think it is a good nn but as a stand alone fn I find it a little lacking.
