    Is Hyacinth usable? And nicknames?

I've been thinking about Hyacinth lately. I've always written it off because of its association with Hyacinth Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances (love that show), but just saw a woman on a cooking show named Hyacinth. Seeing it on her made it seem wearable, somehow. What does everyone think? Is Hyacinth usable? Are there any nicknames that could work for it? Could Hattie? Thanks!

I think it could work, I mean people already use other flower names like Daisy, Poppy, Rose, Violet, Magnolia, etc...

My instinct for a nickname is Cynthy/Cinthy like Cynthia. Hattie seems like a stretch....

I love Hyacinth and think it would be a lovely, refreshing choice! Can't think of a nn that sounds as good as using Hyacinth in its entirety.

Hyacinth does feel a little stuffy to me. I love Jacinta and Jacinth though.

I love it, as well as the more frilly version Hyacintha. Cindy, Cynthie, Yaya, and even Indy seem like acceptable nicknames. Personally, I don't think Hattie works since the t is pronounced differently.
