I really love Evangeline August. I like it on its own, and especially for your grandfather. I dont see why you shouldn't use it!
August is a month, so really it could be used for either gender. I always enjoy August when its used for either.
    Congrats on your little girl!

This is exactly how I feel. Well actually I like Augustine best but it felt overdone with Evangeline so Augusta just seems perfect.

Normally I'm not a fan of August (boy or girl) but if it's your grandfather's name, I'd say go for it. The combo does sound kind of cute

    Best of luck!

August up front would scream boy to me, but it's a middle name, no biggy. I think the problem I have is that I'm picturing a yankee candle...

I actually like someone's suggestion of Evangeline Augusta better, for that reason. BUT it's not a terrible name, just not my taste.

Wow, that is stunning. Go for it! While August on a boy to me sounds sort of moldy prep school, August on a girl sounds bright, sunshiny, and lovely. I think of the month, not the man's name. Especially since it was your grandfather's name, you should do it.

Just promise me you won't call your baby Vangie. I have a professor named Evangeline and she goes by Vangie. WHAT?! You have a gorgeous and unique name. Don't ruin it. I take it a bit too personally, I think.
    Names I enjoy:

    Girls: Lucy, Elena, Lake, Sylvie

    Boys: Jack, Eamon, Sylvan, Theo
