I used to love the name Owen, but when I married my last name changed to one that is only one letter off of it.

Our last name starts with Hatt- which takes Harriet nn Hattie out of the running. Especially since we live in Hattiesburg. Hattie Hatt.en from Hattiesburg? Uh, no. I would have definitely considered that name too since the book Harriet the Spy basically changed my life when I was 10.

I'm also not keen on names ending in -en or -in or -on. My name does, and it sounds kinda lame with my last name. So that takes one of my favorites, Vivien, out of the running.

I love Spencer, Jasper and Summer but with the last name Baker it knocks those out.

I'm not married, but if I kept my maiden name any -o names would be out - including favourites Leo & Ivo. Also have a double-l in my name, so things like Lily, Tallulah, Delilah etc would have to be avoided, though none of those are too special to me. I don't plan on keeping my maiden name though, so I'll probably have a whole different bunch of restrictions when it comes to the time.

In an ideal flow world, all names that end in a. Sigh. Since finding names I liked that don't end in a became a pointless exercise I try to avoid names with av or la. So Cassandra is good. Aviva or Ava no.
