    Narrowing Down Our Girls List...

    Hey berries!

SO and I are trying to revamp our list by narrowing down our choices (which are very... eclectic). While we love these names, we thought it would be refreshing to get some outside opinion.

I figured the easiest way to do this would be to pick a top 5- 10 favorites and 5-10 least favorites. This way we can keep track of certain names that reoccur on one list or the other. If you would like to give an explanation on your choices that would be really amazing!

Any input would be very appreciated.

    (P.S. We're not expecting)

Adelaide, Agatha, Alessandra, Alice, Arden, Aurelia
    Carys, Catherine, Ceridwen, Clara, Clementine
Edith "Edie", Eliora, Elowen, Emilia, Emmeline, Esther, Eulalie, Evangeline
    Genevieve, Gwen
    Imogen, Iris, Isobel
    Jane, Jessamine, Josephine, Juniper
    Lavinia, Livia, Louisa, Lucy, Lydia
    Madeleine, Maeve, Magnolia, Marian, Miranda
    Naomi, Niamh, Nina
    Odette, Olive, Opal, Ophelia
    Penelope, Petra, Phoebe
    Rosalind, Rosamund, Rose
    Sarah, Seraphina, Susanna
    Vesper, Violet

A lot of these are really great! I don't know if I can keep my list of favorites under 10, but I'll try:

    Athena (my own #1)
    Theodora (nn Thea?)
    Sybil (though I prefer Sibyl)
Honorable mention: Honora (pun sort of intended), Iona, Petra, Eulalie (and I still haven't finished listing all the names on your list that I like!)

    Least favorites:

    Ava (snore)
    Yvonne (snore + kinda dated)
Elula (tongue twister; I feel like a lot of people would just go, "Elula...El-oo-you know what? That's too hard to say! How about I just call you...Ellie?")
Jessamine (it's Jessica, but dressed up...and it didn't actually clean up all that nice)
Aneira / Aniara (feels like it's trying too hard)
Gemma (it's kind of like a plastic tiara; superficial, sparkly, & fake)
...and four more that just seem very lackluster, especially compared to the rest of your list:

There are some others I'm bored of (Rose, Ruby, Lucy, Amy, etc.), but I don't really find them objectionable, as such. They're just not very interesting.
    it's name-o'clock somewhere

    Daria | Jethra | Ramona | Claudia | Zenobia | Niobe | Tullia | Solveig | Greta | Cyra | Rivka | Hypatia | Junia | Moira | Phoebe

    Ferris | Otto | Dorian | Arthur | Leif | Robin | Fox | Cassander | Desmond | Cyro | Grover | Sirocco | Rory | Quentin | Tycho

Mildred "Red" ☆ Obedience "Bede" ☆ Relief "Leafy" ☆ Dorothea "Doro" ☆ Cressida "Sid" ☆ Ruth "Rue" ☆ Eudoxia "Exie" ☆ Ramona "Momo"

    10 Faves (this is hard)

Aurelia - Lush, feminine and rare
    Emmeline - sweet and romantic
Genevieve - a French gem with depth and history
Grace - short, simple and sweet
    Helena - gorgeous mythological name
Isobel - a classic name with a twist (I like this Scottish spelling)
    Josephine - strong and majestic
    Louisa - classic and literary
    Rosamund - poetic and elegant
Violet - a lovely flower name

10 Least Faves (God, this is difficult too! )

    Aniara - looks odd
Aria - trendy name that is best left to the opera world.
    Heather - overused and dated
Lilia - I prefer just Lily
Merida - trendy Disney princess and place name
Myla - I have an aversion to random y's
Odette - clunky. I prefer Odile.
Thera - lacks substance. I want to add on to it (eg. therapy).
Una - too close to Numero Uno. I don't mind the Irish Oona
Vesper - reminds me of a snake and I have a terrible fear of snakes.
    All the best,
