Thoughts on Persephone? Is it too much for a child to carry?

Personally, I think it's a little heavy but not really. It's a gorgeous name and it's familiar (like the new Penelope). Besides if you think its a little heavy when she gets older, there are some cute nn you could get from Persephone! Like Percy (spelled Persy), Seph, Fifi etc..

I don't think it's too much at all! It's no more than Alexandra or Victoria. WAY less common, but no less "heavy".

It's a bit out there for me. I think it would be a great middle name selection, though.

Wishing for Greece, stuck in the US
I'm using Persephone (as you can see in my signature), and I think it's gorgeous. She's the goddess of Spring Growth and is responsible for the beauty of springtime because she and her mother are happily together.

I don't think it's too much. As a pp said, it's no more than any other long name (or Hermione which is also a Greek myth name with a sort of dark history so many people on here love) and plenty of other names have a bit of dark history some where in there.

Again, it's gorgeous, most people know how to pronounce it, and there's a lot of great nicknames (Pers, Persi, Seph, Sephy, Sisi, etc) -- My Amazon Author Page
