    The only issue I have with Pacific is that it sounds like a little kid trying to say "specific." Personally I think it's sort of weird, but Pacific certainly isn't the worst thing you can name a child. Oceanus would be a better choice in my opinion, unless Pacific's siblings are Atlantic and Antarctic.

    I think I like it! I do think it might need a more "accessible" nn. PP's suggestion of Pax makes sense. Paz could work, too. For some reason this reminds me of an entry on appellation mountain about the name Meridian, which I also thought was cool.

    I have to agree with southern.maple, a young Pacific would probably have a tough time saying his own name! But to answer your question, I have yet to meet a Pacific in real life, but I guess I could see it working on a little boy!
