I'm around your age, and reading through your text remind me of how I was feeling a couple years ago: very hopeless, lacking confidence, not doing great in college, lacking direction in my life. I know telling you "you're too young to worry", "your problems are nothing", is probably not very helpful at this point. Your thing is "baby fever", mine was "I'm a loser because I don't have a boyfriend and will die alone". It happens.
Medication and specialised help - really just someone I would talk to a couple hours a week - helped me a lot. I changed my major to a field I liked and was better at. I still don't have a boyfriend (lol) but I'm much happier and more comfortable with my life. If your previous experiece with a psychiatrist didn't work, please try again. I promise you it will be worth it. Feeling depressed is not inevitable.

@uniquenamelover, I bet you feel like we're all piling on. You came seeking validation and you might be interpreting all of our chippy success stories as the opposite.
I just wanted to say I know how you feel. Really, I do. Worries about partnering up and future families are very, very normal, especially as you're in your early 20s.Blade, MD
