Maxine would be much better. I had a guy friend named Maxwell growing up, and it is one of my favorite boy names. (I love Chase on a girl, but I doubt I'd ever use it, btw.)

Jordan (Love this on a girl)
Reagan (Rea is a cute nickname)

I think those are my favorites. From yours, love Avery and Fallon, but Fallen jokes will abound, but I dislike the others.

I love the jazzy vibe of Maxie, too. It makes me think of dance halls and 'Chicago.' However, the maxi-pad association might be rough.

How do the other androgenous surname-style names strike you?

Where I live Maxim is considered unisex so maybe. Not a fan of Maxwell on a either a girl or a guy though.

Totally agree. You're too hot on the heels.

As for the pet association, if the pet is no longer around, I don't think it's such a big issue. I'm considering the name Noah and once had a cat with that name.

I really like Alex for a girl. Not Alexandra, Alexis, or Alexandria. Just Alex.

I think Henry would sound really cute on a girl with the right nickname but it may be too out there.

Charlie and Drew are probably my favorite crossovers.

I am not too fond of Maxwell but you could use Maxine or just Max. I don't think of the Simpson baby but I do not really watch TV or follow celebrity life. I like your style! Although some of the berries on here get a little grumpy and uptight about boys names crossing over to the girl's side, so be careful.
