I think you can wait till you get home to switch to granny panties and personal pads, honestly. The mesh underwear and giant pads are actually much better suited to immediate post-delivery needs, and there’s no fear of wasting or ruining anything.

I say also bring your own slippers and robe–hospitals can get cold.

I have to agree wait until you’ve been discharged and see what your pad needs are. Better to have too much absorbency than too little in my opinion, especially in the hospital where people shouldn’t be judging you for wearing giant pads anyway. I needed ice packs for a while, so adult diapers really felt like a luxury for a few weeks, especially when you factor in that you’re often going for convenience since you’re often multitasking with an infant needing you constantly

I agree with the previous berries that posted. The first days after giving birth it is much easier to use the pads and underwear that the hospital provides. And I agree that a robe and your own slippers are nice.

The only things I can think to add are a pillow for you and a nursing pillow if you plan on breastfeeding.
