Favorite Girl Names

Girl names are so much easier, and for my two favorites, I already have the middle names picked out. (I tend to like boys' and surnames for girls.) Again, I reused a lot of my favorite middle names. And, with some girl names, I tend to change the spelling based on the middle name and what I feel looks better.
  1. DemiHeart
    • Origin:

      Diminutive of Demetria or Greek
    • Meaning:

      "half"
    • Description:

Demi appeared in the US as a baby name thanks to a single celebrity, actress Demi Moore, who put it on the Top 1000 throughout the 1990s. As her star faded, so did the visibility of the name, though now it is rising again on its own steam. It's popular in Europe, too, especially in The Netherlands. Demi may be that unusual name that's launched by a celebrity and then maintains its visibility all by itself.
  2. Isaline "Izzie"Heart
    • Lylie EverlyHeart
      • Peri Della JeanneHeart
        • RemiHeart
          • Origin:

            French, variation of Remy
          • Meaning:

            "oarsman"
          • Description:

Adorable name that's fashionable and keeps gaining momentum. Remi entered the US Top 1000 in 2013 and is now approaching the Top 100. The Remi spelling is more popular for girls, while Remy is more popular for boys, both both spellings are in the Top 1000 for both genders. That's a remarkable success story for a name that, in the late 1900s, was given to only a handful of babies in the US.
