What would your kids name their babies?
by luckymomma on Fri May 08, 2009 7:51 pm
Today my two-year-old (three in two weeks), Beatrix, announced that she would have a baby girl named Orange and a boy named Banana. Ronan, my five-year-old, campaigned hard to have the boy named Orange, but she wouldn't budge.
Ronan decided his boy would be named Coop (NOT Cooper, but he said they'd use Coopster as a NN), and his girl would be Trula. (I think this name is from the 12 Days of Christmas. For years, he's sung it as "...my trula gave to me..." Kind of a sweet name!)
What do your kids say??

My son Peter loves the names Vincent and Sergio. My daughter Laura loves Vincent, Sergio, Catherine, Celeste, and I can't think of any more.

Wow, susan, your kids have really grown-up taste!
I remember when I was younger, going through that stage where you think it would be really great to name your girls all the gem stones you can think of, and your son would be Stone or Rock ... also, I was pretty keen on Sting for a while ... funny looking back, hey?

My son (10) came up with Luke Ronald or Lavender Leia for his 9 month old sibling. (Judith Bridget... Lavender Leia sounds like a cake for me. He got over it.)
I do have a friend who (with her brother) got to choose her little sister's middle name. They chose Lucy, or Edmund for a boy.

My son was pushing for ralph for his younger sibling, even after he learned it would be a girl.
Now she names all her baby dolls Sunny.

My oldest daughter 11, swears she is never having kids. She never played with baby dolls so I guess it's no surprise. She does however like the name Wren for a little sister. She refuses to give a boys name because she's knows if we have a boy she'll be stuck sharing a room with her little sister. My youngest daughter almost 5, loves the names Clora, Lucas, Ambrielle (?), Alex ( a boy from kindergarten), and Love Heart.

Sonja is determined to name her first boy Fireman. Her daddy's a fireman, and she already has a lot of respect and love for the job. She also loves Coriander, Brook, and Kooji for a boy and Cloud, Flower, and Bumble Bee for a girl (she's really into nature names :) ). We just saw Ponyo yesterday, and she has decided its her number 1 choice for a girl (not sure how long that will last though)
Forrester doesn't know what he wants to name future kids, but he wants his new brother to be named Forrester Jr. after himself, which I find really cute.
