Sheba-- Not fond of it...my aunt has a cat named Sheba
Viveca-- Don't like it; it just sounds, to me, like the name of a bully
Maximilienne nn Millie-- While it's interesting, I've always thought it should stick with boys.
Dolly as a nn for Dorothea-- I like this. It's very feminine and will age well!
Lennox-- Not for a child; it's that set of expensive stuff you buy!
Anastasie nn Tansy-- I prefer Anastasia, and am not a fan at all of Tansy..it rhymes with Pansy!
Pascale/Pascaline-- Something about this name doesn't sit well with me..
Lilac-- I like this, though prefer Lila
Lilias-- This is very pretty! Unique
Dinah-- No; reminds me of the song that goes "Dinah won't you blow your horn?"
Agatta-- too old lady for anyone to have!
Nestora-- This is really interesting. I would never use it, but I like it
Elettra-- too close to Elektra for my liking
Nereida-- see Pascale
Peninah-- see Pascale again!
Hester-- I love Hester! It reminds me of Hester Prynne from The Scarlet Letter =)
Irisa-- would be better without the "a", in my opinion
Mamie as a nn for Marguerite-- I don't like this name...the sound doesn't fall well on my ears
Berenice-- It's a good name, but I don't really like it
Mimi-- I always think of Mimi from the Drew Carey Show, so no!
Orsola (& Ursula)-- Ursula from The Little Mermaid..not a good namesake!
Edwin-- While I prefer Edward and Edmund, I do like Edwin
Phineas-- I love, love, love Phineas!
Cornell-- I like Cornell. It sounds very strong
Otto-- It's too boring for my liking
Raleigh-- I like this! Very regal
Rowling-- YES!! JK Rowling =D
Zeb-- I do have a small fondness for Zeb
Roscoe-- Regal, too.
Clement--- I don't like Clement. It's so bland
Zimran-- Too strange for my taste, but points for unique
Foster-- I like Foster, but just on paper and not on a person
*Also, I had a dream last night about the name Anna, which I've always found extremely boring, but I love in my dream. I'm starting to like it now...odd?[/quote]
I don't think that's odd that you're starting to like Anna. I don't like it, either, but I get why people do.

I'll share my very first thoughts, almost like a word association game:
Sheba: Shiba Inu puppies
Viveca: A. Fox, the actress. (But I love the name...)
Maximilienne nn Millie: I thought, "That's long!" I love Millie!
Dolly as a nn for Dorothea: I love Dorothea, but think of Dolly more for Dahlia. I think that Dolly is darling!
Lennox: Annie Lennox and Lennox china.
Anastasie nn Tansy: First thought, "Is that supposed to be Anastasia?" I love Anastasia!
Pascale/Pascaline: Paschal lamb and Pascal's Triangle.
Lilac: Pretty! (My favorite floral scent!) :-)
Lilias: Pretty!
Dinah: My first thought was, "Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah..." and then I thought of "Delilah."
Agatta: My first thought: "Is this supposed to be Agatha?"
Nestora: Nestle chocolate.
Elettra: I love this name! When I look at it, I always first see "Electric." :-)
Nereida: Hmmm....
Peninah: First thought: "I love Nina!"
Hester: Scarlett Letter
Irisa: I love Iris!
Mamie as a nn for Marguerite: I love the nickname Mamie, and think of the musical, Mame.
Berenice: I love the Italian pronunciation, but otherwise, I think of barren ice.
Mimi: I think it's a cute nickname...
Orsola (& Ursula): I unfortunately think of Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
Edwin: Cool...
Phineas: Awesome...
Cornell: University
Otto: Auto (and the "Otto Titsling" song from "Beaches"), but I think it's a cool name.
Raleigh: Durham
Rowling: JK
Zeb: Zebulon
Roscoe: Cowboy and the Wild West...I like it!
Clement: Clementine.
Zimran: First thought: "Hmmm...."
Foster: Child
I'm not sure if you were searching for first thoughts, so I apologize if I goofed! :-)
Take care!
P.S. I love Anna, too, and Annabelle and Anneliese. :-)

Sheba - cats, Queen of
Viveca - pharmaceutical brand
Maximilienne nn Millie - too many letters
Dolly as a nn for Dorothea - abstract, but then again so is Margaret nn Peggy; I like it - Dolly is cute and Dorothea is beautiful
Lennox - too masculine. Annie.
Anastasie nn Tansy - Tansy has always sounded a little tacky to me. To me, Anastasia will always be the member of the Russian royal family, probably killed by the Bolsheviks, no matter how many I meet ... so I find it too sad to really like.
Pascale/Pascaline - Physics (Pascal is a unit of measuring ... well, my memory doesn't stretch that far back, but something!)
Lilac - sweet, feminine and bohemian.
Lilias - ...ass.
Dinah - Eighties.
Agatta - I love! A satisfying sound, and Aggie is a cute nn.
Nestora - a disease.
Elettra - electricity.
Nereida - how do I pronounce that?
Peninah - why not just Penelope?
Hester - lovely, classic name.
Irisa - unneccessary elaboration.
Mamie as a nn for Marguerite - adorable, vintage and quirky.
Berenice - poor child.
Mimi - too cutesy, too overused.
Orsola (& Ursula) - nasty octopus-woman (thank you, Disney).
Edwin - the least lovely of the Ed__ names, but a quirky choice.
Phineas - I adore, although Finn is getting a little popular.
Cornell - Cornwall? Corns on your feet? Cornelius?
Otto - utterly brilliant.
Raleigh - a waste of a life (Journey's End).
Rowling - rowing? At second glance, JK?
Zeb - where's the rest of this name?
Roscoe - nice, perhaps a little try-hard.
Clement - excellent.
Zimran - alien?
Foster - child.

Sheba: I think of a Shiba Inu dog...
Viveca: Viveca Fox, but I think it's a great name!

Dinah: I think of the song..."Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah..."

Orsola (& Ursula): Orsola is interesting, but my favorites of the Ursula names is Ursuline.
Edwin: There's something about it I don't really like...
Phineas: I love Phineas!
Cornell: The first thing I associate it with is the college.
Otto: There's a boy named Otto in my sister's class... I only think of autos.
Raleigh: I don't like it; it sounds like a tryndee girl's name :(
Rowling: J.K. Rowling!
Zeb: Maybe as a nickname for Zebedee/ Zebediah?
Roscoe: Sounds a little too much like a dogs' name for me
Clement: -ine. I guess in France it would be fine.
