"Girls in white dresses..."

"Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes..." so the song goes about Maria's favorite things in The Sound of Music.

It's a pretty bit of imagery, and I've always imagined these anonymous little girls to be named after white flowers, to match their white dresses.

So, I'm asking our Nameberryites for two things.

#1 - Can you please add to my list of feminine names below that represent white flowers?

#2 - Can you please select eight of these names (either from my list below or from additional names that you or others leave here) that you feel go best together, for a group of eight little girls all wearing white dresses? I need just eight names that conjure up the image described.

Blanchefleur (French: White Flower)
Blodwen (Welsh: White Flower)
Bryony
Cicely
Clover
Daisy
Gwenonwy (Welsh: Lily of the Valley)
Honesty
Jasmine
Jessamine (Jasmine)
Lily
Marguerite (French: Daisy)
Mayblossom
Melissa
Paquerette (French: Daisy)
Siasmin (Welsh: Jasmine)
Stellaire (French: Starwort)
Stellaria (Latin: Starwort)

Thanks in advance!

Re: "Girls in white dresses..."

Here are a few more:

Briallen -- primrose (Welsh)
Caja -- daisy (Cornish)
Calla (calla lily)
Camellia
Camri -- camomile (Welsh)
Eirlys -- snowdrop (Welsh)
Ivy
Lillias -- lily
Luneria (honesty)
Meillionen -- clover (Welsh)
Rosenwyn -- white / fair rose (Cornish)
Susanna -- 'lily'
Veronica (figwort)

I would group:

Bryony, Cicely, Eirlys, Lillias, Caja, Jessamine, Calla, Briallen

or

Rosenwyn, Marguerite, Gwenonwy, Blanchfleur, Stellaria, Jessamine, Camellia, Meillionen

Re: "Girls in white dresses..."

Hmm ... a lovely group would be Cicely, Clover, Honesty, Gwenonwy, Marguerite, Siasmin, Lily (or Liliana), and Blanche (I personally prefer simply Blanche, finding Blanchefleur a little too obvious and clunky) or Ivy, as Elea suggested.

This is a lovely idea!

Re: "Girls in white dresses..."

Elea, how could I have missed Eirlys? I love that name! And your Cornish addition of Rosenwyn is another name that is fast becoming one of my favorites!

As for Briallen... While I love all Welsh names, isn't the primrose a yellow flower? (Edit: I just checked, and one can find white primroses, too!)

Twinkle, I agree with you on Blanchefleur being a little too obvious. It's still one of my favorite flower names, though, because of its literary connections:

Thanks, both of you, for your input!

Re: "Girls in white dresses..."

I would add Edelweiss. It may be a little too obvious, but why not include the name of the little white flower that inspired a song in the same musical??

My favorite combination is:

Bryony, Eirlys, Calla, Lillias, Blodwen, Camri, Whitleigh and Edelweiss
