Apple

I think that Apple would make a really cute middle name.
Ann is just too old. What do you think? Is Apple too unusual?

Re: Apple

I would say Apple (at least for the next few decades) is inherently celebrity stamped. It is consigned to the Pax, Moonunit, Jagger(g), Peaches, Zuma, Bronx pile.

I have seen Plum used as a middle name in a few posh Brit newspaper announcements and I thought it was quite cute and quirky (and untouched by celebs!)

Re: Apple

I second everything the poster above said, including that Plum would be very cute (it's reaonably traditional, as far as fruit names for people go).
Also, the much longer Clementine is in common(ish) use, and that's pretty, too.

Re: Apple

I think Apple is fine for a middle name. Good luck!

Re: Apple

I love Apple. I love it as a first name, but also as a middle name.

Have you considered Apolline? It's a beautiful underused French name that can have the nickname Apple.

Re: Apple

I have to say that whenever I see the name Apple I think of Gweneth Paltrow's daughter. Though if you're using it for a middle name I think it sounds quite alright! Cheers!

Re: Apple

I have a friend named Apple, she's the same age as myself (33) and hates the fact that is is now forever associated with little Apple Martin. It really suits my friend who is just as quirky as her name :)

Re: Apple

The name Apple reminds me of some of the threads we've seen, like Aloe - kind of would be a pretty name, it's a plant, a healing plant in fact... it's just odd. Other one was someone knew a girl whose parents insisted no one nickname little Coriander, while other herbs and spices are used for names with no problem. Coriander, what is seriously wrong with it? It is like Brooklyn to me, which as a place is kind of strange to use as a name, but Brooke and Lyn are names, so why not? As a society, we just get used to things someone once thought was original and unique.

Apples are good, but are they a name? I don't associate it as Gwyneth Paltrow's strange choice. I think it could be a name, but I'm not sure. My tastes are not that way out there. If you only know one Apple in life and it's some celebrity's idea of a name, then most people might associate with that, but I think it could be interesting. I don't know about Plum for a name, that's also a little eccentric in my opinion, but not in any critical way - I like that some people go with these ideas, I like meeting people whose parents weren't boxed in with the flavor of the day. Why is Olive a name and not Apple? When I meet new people with an interesting name, it makes life interesting than if they were all called Julia and Megan and Karen and Penelope, normal strictly tasteful names. Apple. It's also kind of funny in a wordplay that APPELlation means name.
