How is this really pronounced?

I fell in love with the name Ava, and I knew other ways to spell it like Eva (spanish way). I was talking to my friend about it and she said it's pronounced (E-va) not (A-va). I always thought (E-va) was spelled like Eeva. How do you prounounced Eva?

I pronounce Ava "A-va," and Eva "ee-va." Like you said, Eva is "A-va" in Spanish. I think Eva is really pretty. :-)
