Twins!

I am very excited to find out that my family will be welcoming twins! I want their gender to be a suprise (we do however know that they will be the same gender) and they have a beautiful older sister named Meredith. Our last name is Shepherd so tell me what you think!:

Twin Girls:
Lana Casey
Morgan Elizabeth
Isabella George (Ella as a nickname)
Madelyn Bailey (Maddy for nickname)
Bridget ____?
Seraphina Katherine (Sara for nickname)
Katherine Ann (Kate for nickname)
Scarlett __?
Charlotte
we have a long girls name!

Twin Boys:
Wyatt Matthew
Matthew Logan
Christian
Tristan
Logan
Liam
Nathan (Nate)
Jack

Ok so as you can see we have many options and need help narrowing it down! Thanks for all your help!

Re: Twins!

Love the name Meredith so much! With Meredith, I love*
Twin Girls:
Lana Casey
Morgan Elizabeth
Isabella George (Ella as a nickname) - this is a beautiful name, but so popular. I prefer Mirabella nn Mira or Miri.
*Madelyn Bailey (Maddy for nickname) - spelled Madeline or Madeleine, love nn Maddy.
*Bridget ____? Bridget Caroline, Bridget Catherine, Bridget Evelyn.
Seraphina Katherine (Sara for nickname) - I think I'm already tired of Seraphina. It's too bad. But lots of other people love it.
*Katherine Ann (Kate for nickname) - love, but it's very popular.
*Scarlett __? - so pretty, Scarlett Amandine, Scarlett Eloise, Scarlett Evelyn, Scarlett Genevieve, Scarlett Katherine.
*Charlotte - Charlotte Adeline, Charlotte Evelyn, Charlotte Sophia, Charlotte Vivienne.
You love girl's names that end in "t", I think.

Twin Boys:
*Wyatt Matthew - love
Matthew Logan - Matthew has been popular for a long time. It is a very handsome name though.
Christian - I guess it's just me, but I always think of Christians when I hear this name. I am a Christian, so you'd think I'd like it. Lots of people love this name, so it must have its merits. I prefer Christopher, but it has been overdone.
Tristan
Logan - this seems trendy, but it's very cute. I love Gavin, Callum, Declan, and Corbin which are similar but not as popular.
*Liam
*Nathan (Nate) - I love Nathaniel even more.
*Jack - I always love Jack even though it's so popular.

How about Trevor?

Re: Twins!

My thoughts on your names are:

Twin Girls:
Lana Casey - LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Morgan Elizabeth - I think if you are going to give one twin an M name then you should give both of them
Isabella George - Hate Isabella, love George
Madelyn Bailey - It's okay. Though I prefer the Madeleine or Madeline spelling
Bridget Jane, Bridget Mary, Bridget Leigh - Love Bridget.
Seraphina Katherine - If you're gonna call her Sara then just name her Sara. Don't take a lovely name and shorten it.
Katherine Ann - See above
Scarlett Renee
Charlotte Judith, Lilly, Eleanor

Twin Boys:
Wyatt Matthew - I love Wyatt
Matthew Logan - Both names are way too popular
Christian - my brothers name
Tristan - boring
Logan - too popular
Liam - love Liam even though its too popular
Nathan - My 4th favourite boys name
Jack - so over used

Re: Twins!

thanks so much! My husband really wants Lana Casey and although I do love that name, I am a little conserned about the way Lana is spelled backwards. Should we still do it? And what name for the other twin?

However if we do have boys we have narrowed it down to
Nathaniel and Wyatt

Re: Twins!

As a Greys Anatomy fan, I have to admit to a little thrill of excitement at Meredith Shepherd! I think Meredith is a beautiful name.

My favourite combo with Meredith is Lana Casey & Isabella George. I like how both are feminine first names with the unisex mn. However, I would consider making it Isabelle George so that it doesn't have so many more syllables than Lana does.
The other name I really like with Meredith is Katherine. I think if you played around with the middle names this could be a great match for either Isabelle or Lana. How about Katherine Bailey?
From the rest of your list, I wouldn't use the M names with Meredith, and I don't think Bridget or Seraphina fit.

From your boys' names, I think Nathan fits wonderfully with Meredith, and so does Matthew (the M doesn't bother me as much when the genders are different). I'm not sure about Matthew and Nathan together though. I like Jack, but it seems very short next to the rest of your names. How about Nathan and Jackson?

Re: Twins!

Love Meredith. For the babies...

Charlotte and Katherine (Kate) would be my pic! I think they sound best with Meredith!
Good Luck!

My daughter's name is Alanna (can also be spelled Alana), and her nn is Lana. So you could always go that route. I think Morgan, Madelyn, or Bridget go well with Lana.

Out of all your boy names I would have suggested Nathaniel and Wyatt, and also Matthew.

Congrats and good luck!

I'm sorry, I just find it hilarious that your daughter's name is Meredith and your last name is Shepherd. So very Grey's Anatomy! But, her name is absolutely beautiful! Lovely choice! Lets work on some equally beautiful names for your twins!

Meredith is honestly fairly unique, even though it is a normal name. It has subtle feminine qualities without being overly frilly. It has a few nickname options, but nothing substantial. And, it is a Welsh name. So, knowing that and looking at the names you have suggested for your twins, here are my opinions:

Lana Casey - This name seems too blunt or short with the long Meredith, and I personally would like to see a more feminine middle name; Alanna Caroline Shepherd would be nice.

Morgan Elizabeth - Morgan seems like it peaked in popularity in the nineties, and I just don't see it having the same WOW! factor as Meredith likely does, now. However, it is Welsh.

Isabella George (Ella as a nickname) - Isabella is an exceedingly popular, and quite feminine name, that, though pretty with Meredith, doesn't have quite the same feel. And, I worry that you could be getting into Grey's Anatomy characters too much with this name.

Madelyn Bailey (Maddy for nickname) - Madelyn, especially with this spelling, is also rather popular. I like the spelling Madeleine, but it still seems off with Meredith! Also, do you want another M name?

Bridget ____? - I think Bridget is getting closest to Meredith in style. It isn't overly feminine, yet it is a fairly unusual and pretty name. It doesn't have too many nickname options, yet it is Irish, which is quite close to Wales! I like this one a lot...

Seraphina Katherine (Sara for nickname) - Completely too frilly next to Meredith, even though I like it. Sara alone could be cute!

Katherine Ann (Kate for nickname) - I like Catherine, but I don't see the WOW! factor next to Meredith!

Scarlett __? - Unlike most on Nameberry, I don't share the positive feelings about Scarlett. It honestly doesn't sound particularly classy and elegant to me, even though I know that is how it is supposed to sound. It's old-Hollywood feel again seems mismatched to Meredith.

Charlotte - One of my absolute favorites, but honestly not next to Meredith. Meredith is a unisex (surname) name, and Charlotte is a classic feminine name of royalty. I'd save it as a middle name!

Suggestions - I'm sorry to blow through your names like that, but I just don't see all of them fitting perfectly with Meredith. My two favorites were Bridget and Lana, though I would change this to Alanna. Some MORE names for you - Brynn, Cerys, Guinevere, Gwendolyn, Megan, Morgana, Reese, Rhiannon, Tegan, Wynn. You do seem to have a bit of a favoring for unisex names (albeit, not blatantly obvious ones) being somewhere within the name, and my favorites for your twins, with Meredith, are:

Reese Madeleine Shepherd and Tegan Isabella Shepherd***
Reese Madeleine Shepherd and Gwendolyn Bridget Shepherd***
Gwendolyn Bridget Shepherd and Morgana George Shepherd

Wyatt Matthew - I do really like Meredith and Wyatt together, as they both have that subtle surname feel. They are both familiar without being exceedingly popular.

Matthew Logan - I don't think Matthew has the WOW! factor to match Meredith, and I'm not fond of matching letters unless you can't find something you otherwise love.

Christian - I don't honestly like most names with a Chris- in front of them, but Christian is workable. I don't know if it is the best choice with Meredith, but it works...

Tristan - This is perfect with Meredith! I love it!

Logan - I just don't care for this name (call it bad associations)!

Liam - It is a very cute name, but I think the trend factor is telling me to find something a bit more unique to go with Meredith.

Nathan (Nate) - I love Nate, but as a nickname for Nathaniel. And, Nathaniel just doesn't work with Meredith.

Jack - Always adorable and classy, but no special qualities when paired with Meredith, unfortunately. Jackson could be a great middle name, though! Or Jacoby!

Suggestions - Again, a big sorry for going through your names like that, but I don't really think any are perfect with Meredith besides Tristan, which I adore with your daughter's name! Tristan is Welsh, too, just like Meredith. Love it. Some MORE names for you - Bowen, Broderick, Griffin, Owen, Rhys. I'm going to pair at least one of these with Tristan because I think it is so perfect!

Tristan Matthew Shepherd and Rhys Nathaniel Shepherd***
Griffin Wyatt Shepherd and Broderick "Brody" Logan Shepherd

Best of luck in your name search!

Re: Twins!

For girls with big sister Meredith:
I love pp's suggestion of Gwendolyn! Aside from my personal attachment to Gwendolyn, I agree that it works with Meredith in that it is uncommon but recognizable, feminine but not at all frilly and it is also Welsh.
Others I like with Meredith (and Gwendolyn):
Charlotte - it's not Welsh but I do think it goes
Rhiannon - Welsh, length matches, not frilly, not common
Teagan - I like this one!
Morgan - I like this one but I don't like that it starts with M - would the second twin also have to start with M, or be left out?
Eleanor - more popular than Meredith but matches the length and elegance without being frilly.
Darcy - a little surname-y like Meredith
Bronwyn - I love this! Maybe can't use with Gwendolyn, but it sounds great with Meredith.

My votes with big sister Meredith:
Gwendolyn and Teagan
Gwendolyn and Eleanor
Bronwyn and Teagan

Re: Twins!

I like the following of your names:
Lana, Elizabeth, Isabella (uberpopular but pretty), Bridget, Katherine, and Charlotte.

I love Christian, Nate and Jack.

Tristan (not bad - reminds me of the Brad Pitt character in Legends of the Fall) and Liam are nice, too.
