my husband told his mom we were thinking about naming our baby scarlett and she said that was HORRIBLE! the next day she called and said it wasnt that bad, but now we are totally second guessing our name choice. i really like scarlett, its strong and not too common. we also like evie. our other daughter's name is macey and we just want to pick something that fits us. we want to use wren as the middle name. our last name is henry. please help! thanks :)

Scarlett Wren flows much better. What is with relatives denouncing names as awful??? They really cause so much anxiety in a process that should be FUN.
Macy and Evie seems a little matchy-matchy to me, both being two-syllable names that end in "ee".

Scarlett Wren is gorgeous. I would definitely go with it. Evie Wren doesn't have nearly as much of a good flow and I prefer Evie as a nn for Evangeline or the like. Good luck:)

Scarlett Wren has much better flow, and Evie would be best as a nickname for Evangelia Wren. However, the flow of Wren with Henry bothers me just a tad bit. If you love it, though, then go for it!

I love Scarlett Wren! So dramatic and lovely. Wren was on our list for our baby girl.

I'm not big on Scarlett or Evie, but Eva Wren would be so gorgeous!

I think that Scarlett Wren sounds lovely, but it makes me think of a scarlett colored wren (with Scarlett being the adjective and Wren the noun). Evie it feels like a nickname to me, and has the same ending sound of your last name.
Because the ren and hen sounds in Wren and your last name rhyme, I second the poster who mentioned that Wren and Henry are too close in sound.

Good luck!

Scarlett Wren all the way.
It flows well and sounds good with Macey (Evie sounds a little rhymey). She also sounds like she could be a high powered business lady by day but some sort of crime fighter by night.
Don't listen to your MIL's opinion. She's already coming round to the idea and after all, it's your child not hers. Besides, you know all grandparents adore their grandkids as soon as they're born, regardless of name.

I like both. How about Everly Wren and call her Evie?
