Middle names for Hazel

Thank heavens, my sister's baby is a girl! Otherwise, her husband wanted to name the baby Xzalfar or something. Now Hazel is a relatively normal name... what a relief. Some of my ideas so far... (btw, last name 2 syllables) Still flexible with Hazel perhaps being the middle name.

Hazel Penelope might grow on me, but I think Penny Hazel is prettier. Of course, that's starting to sound like a description more than a name??

What are your thoughts on Maggie Hazel? Any Margaret derivatives would be great, since my sister's name is Megan.

I think Maggie is too much of a nickname, but Margaret Hazel would be lovely!

You're lucky -- having read some of the suggestions, Hazel goes with a lot of middle names. Usually I'm a fan of two-syllable first names having one-syllable middle names, but I think in the case of Hazel you have more options. I thought Hazel Catherine is pretty.

The one thing I would suggest is avoiding a middle name with the lesser-used or harsh letters in them -- for example Hazel Alexandra -- lots of scrabble points, but it sort of makes Hazel's fun "z" get lost in the shuffle.
