Piper has been on the list for a while now

Chloe Skye (Chloe is my granddaughter) will have a brother or sister in April so my DD is looking for a girl's name, Piper is a favourite of hers.

I think Piper would be better in the mn spot because stylistically it goes with Skye more than Chloe, the other name that my DD likes is below so you can get a feel for her naming style which I would call a mix of classic and modern.

Imogen Bluebell

I have suggested hundreds of names to her but I keep drawing a blank so can you wonderful girls think of something that she may like which I feel is a short, feminine name not too frilly or too old lady?

I hope you can bear with me seeing as we have a long time to go before THE decision has to be made.

PS I am very fortunate in that my DD likes me to suggest names to her but the trouble is that she can't find many she likes and her DH is the veto king so not much progress is being made.

We can't go with names like Juliet because of last name Walter too many 't''s.

Re: Piper has been on the list for a while now

I personally don't like Piper Walter because both names end in "er".

Short, feminine, not too frilly or "old lady".....

Chloe and:

Audrey
Blythe
Daphne (share's Chloe's ending sound, though)
Eva
Flora (may be too frilly)
Gemma (unheard of in the US, but apparently dated in the U.K.)
Isla
Iris
Lila
Lucy
Maeve
Ruby
Stella
Tessa

Take care, Rollo! :-)

When I saw your list Jill I realised that some of the names are ones that DD has said she likes eg, Gemma and Ruby, so I can see that Tessa, Lila, Iris, Isla may have a chance.

I love Blythe esp and Daphne is of Greek roots so I like that with Chloe but like you not sure because of similar ending. What do others think about same ending?

Can you think of combos for Ruby, Lila and Gemma? Do you think Lila goes with Walter?

What do you think of Maia? I just thought of it and I think it sounds great with Walter wdyt?

TIA

Ruby Caroline Walter (to honor Grandma) :-)
Ruby Clementine Walter
Ruby Genevieve Walter
Ruby Josephine Walter
Ruby Louisa Walter
Ruby Olivia Walter (popular, as you know)
Ruby Sophia Walter (ditto)

Lila Genevieve Walter
Lila Josephine Walter
Lila Mirabelle Walter
Lila Rosalie Walter (floral theme, which she may not like)
Lila Vivienne Walter

(Yes, I like Lila with Walter, and think it's great with Chloe!) :-)

Gemma Caroline Walter (for you, Rollo) :-)
Gemma Rosalie Walter

I think it's great that she may like Tessa, Isla, and some of the others.

I'm excited to see what she picks! :-)

Re: Piper has been on the list for a while now

I love you Jill if it was up to you there would be a Caroline, thanks so much. I don't expect it but I would be ecstatic if they did use my name in the middle.

Thanks for all the suggestions I will pass them on!

Re: Piper has been on the list for a while now

You're welcome, Rollo! Yep, I LOVE your name, and am all for Caroline in the middle! I hope your daughter likes the idea!

Take care! :-)

I love Piper immensely! One of my faves! I would use it as a fn and the combo's Piper Imogen and Imogen Piper are both adorable!

I really love that combo I have never thought of it.

Do you have a Gemma combo too?
