by unicorngal on Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:03 pm
A book I am reading has Ebie as a nn for Elizabeth. I had never heard that option before and it got me to thinking about all of the possible nn options for Elizabeth:
Eliza
Ebie
Liz
Liza
Lizzy
Lib
Libby/Libbie
Beth
Bet
Betty/Bettie
Bess
Bessy/Bessie
Betsy
Can anyone think of other nn's for Elizabeth?

Actually how about Lisa? It's my name. When I call my husband by his full name Daniel he hates it, he prefers Dan. He teases me back by calling me Elizabeth. That's not my name but since Lisa a nn for Elizabeth, that's really all he's got. I wish I was Elizabeth, then I would have so many of the above options for nn.
Biz - thinks that 's cute.

About 10 years ago I knew a very independent Irish woman named Elizabeth who was in her 80's and went by Bliz. I like it.

You could also consider Lizbeth as a nickname for Elizabeth.

Tibbie. I had first hear of it from the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants books/movies and had no idea where it came from until a couple weeks ago a poster mentioned it on here. It totally makes sense once I put it in context.
